Today's Pro Card 27th December 2011

Yoz People! It's the Aichi. ^^ This will be my first card review post so I hope you enjoy it.
This card is really well-known and is one of my favourite cards since I am an OTT fanatic as stated by Kamui, and the fact that it's effects are sooooooooooo good that it is counted as a must have by any OTT user. That's right, the card that I am doing is.... CEO AMATERASU! <3

CEO Amaterasu
Normal Unit
Grade 3/ Twin Drive!!
Power: 10 000
Critical: 1
Nation: United Sanctuary
Race: Noble
Effect:
永 {V}: During your turn, if the number of cards in your hand is 4 or higher, this Unit's Power is +4000.
自 {V}: At the start of your Main Phase, Soul Charge (1), look at the top card of your deck, and put that card at the top or bottom of your deck.
自 {V/R}: [Soul Blast 8, Counter Blast 5] When this Unit's attack hits, you may pay the cost. If you did, draw up to 5 cards.

This card is in Booster 1 and is still one of the most sought after cards for OTT players, reason being...
1) It can easily form a 24k set up (Amaterasu + Milk) Furthermore, OTT has 3 Crits now. =] (woots!) Passing the 20k setup easily makes it harder for your opponent to guard and better for you to Crit them which is tied in with the 2nd point.

2) Amaterasu has the ability to do deck filtering. The player can put non-triggers to the bottom of their deck, increasing the chances of getting a trigger during Twin Drive check. Furthermore, the opponent can also anticipate the Trigger and make the appropriate set-ups to corner the opponent.
(Kamui: The top card could be a non-Trigger, but an important one, for example Battle Sister Chocolat (for defense) or Silent Tom. And putting it back to the top, you can trick the opponent into thinking that it's a Trigger, and they would end up guarding more. Or, you could use Psychic Bird to draw into that card, so at least you wouldn't be Soul Charging Psychic Bird without knowing what card you'll draw.)

3) Amaterasu's Soul Blast and Counter Blast effect allows you to increase your handsize, especially if your in a desperate situation and cannot Final Turn the opponent but don't have enough cards to survive the next turn. OTT focuses on increasing handsize so I guess that effect comes in handy?
(Kamui: Since the attack only needs to hit, you can use your Amaterasu Vanguard to attack the opponent's Rear-guard, and the opponent would be unlikely to guard an attack onto a Rear-guard. On the other hand, the opponent would not want you to draw anyways, since having a larger hand will make it harder for the opponent to defeat you. However, if the opponent's hand is quite small, and you attack an Interceptor or even an S Special Intercept it'll be more likely that the opponent cannot guard.)

Hehe Amaterasu is one of my favourite cards, but it is too expensive for me. ^^ It's filtering powers are great, but then there is also one worry for OTT players. That problem is...decking out.

Because OTT's effects are to increase handsize, the player will draw so many cards that the deck will deck out and run out of cards, which is an instant loss. (Kamui: The Soul Charging from CEO just makes decking out much faster. Plus, it's a compulsory effect to Soul Charge.) Other then that, I think OTT is a really fun (but expensive) clan to play.

Ok the Aichi shall now end this review. Hope all of you enjoyed it =P

(P.S. This card isn't soooooooo good as The Aichi says. It's merely erm...one of the stronger cards. I'm not saying that it's weak, but seriously. The Aichi is like treating this card as a God. I know Amaterasu IS a God in legends and all, but still... Claiming this card to be a must-have for any OTT user, crap la! I'd like to see you use this card effectively in a Scarlet Witch build.)

Today's Card 26 December 2011

Hi, today I'm gonna cover this quite good card: ZANBAKU.

Dueling Dragon, ZANBAKU
Normal Unit
Grade 3/Twin Drive!!
Power: 11 000
Critical: 1
Dragon Empire - Murakumo
Race: Abyss Dragon
Effect:
永{V/R}: When there are Units which are not <Murakumo> on the field, this Unit's Power is -2000.
自{V}: During your opponent's Ride Phase, if your opponent's Vanguard is Grade 3 or higher, the opponent may choose one card from their hand and discard it. If they did not discard, they cannot Normal Ride during that Ride Phase.

It's in Extra Booster, in other words it's from the manga and turned into a card. However, I don't read the manga (neither does The Aichi) so we don't know if it's effect has been nerfed. But I'm guessing it is. Like most of the other cards have been.

Anyway, you must be wondering what's the use of this card. Well, firstly, Grade 3 OR HIGHER - hmm, does this hint that there will be a Grade 4? Who knows?

Well, this reminds us of Exile Dragon. Grade 0 OR LOWER. Only Grade 4s are more likely to happen than negative Grades.

Ok, back to the point. This card is for stopping that Soul Saver Dragon from hitting the field so easily, same goes for stopping Phantom Blaster Overlord and Dragonic Overlord The End. Or if your opponent currently has some super fail Unit as the Vanguard (for example Gigantic Charger haha) and your opponent intends to over-Ride with something better.

However, it is quite troll. Like seriously, discard 1 card is quite easily accomplishable. On the other hand, it can decrease the opponent's total Shield, thus faster to finish him/her off. However, if the opponent does end up Riding something powerful like Soul Saver Dragon, Phantom Blaster Overlord or Dragonic Overlord The End, discarding just 1 card is probably nothing to the opponent.

Episode Rants: Episode 49

Hey people! The otaku is back and I'm going to rant about episode 49. To sum up the episode in a few words, it can be expressed as such....angst, BL and famous troll lines! :D Oh and in case you were wondering, BL simply means boy's love which equals to pure gayness... Yup anyone who watches Vanguard  will know that it promotes BL.... and since I am an Otaku, I am not going to just let that fly by me =P For starters, the whole episode focuses around's Kai past, which brings about his much needed character development and we also get to understand how he met Ren and how Foo Fighter came about.

Of course when you have character development via flashbacks for characters like Kai, of course you expect angst! They just can't live without them. As for me, I absolutely hate angst. It's terribly boring! They just keep moaning and groaning about how sad their lives are and it makes you want to go right up to them and say, "DEAL WITH IT! STOP GROANING ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND JUST FACE THE DAMN THING!!! But anime writers love to have angst, because after revealing the angst bit, they can move on to the sweet part. Yup, the character who has a sad past will meet someone and that person will enlighten him and bring him happiness and he will no longer angst and learn to embrace life for that one special person.

Yup, that brings me to my next point. BL! Kai Toshiki, the guy who has such as sad past blah blah blah, has met Sendou Aichi and now is going to rescue him from the evil powers of Psyqualia! The BL bit is not really on purpose, it's just that the way they phrase certain sentences and their behaiviour towards each other (to the extent of obsession), are really quite suggestive. Hence, Vanguard is termed as the BL anime. So bascially, the knight in shining armour, Kai , is going to save the helpless princess and damsal in distress Aichi from the evil clutches of Ren, who has power over Aichi because of Psyqualia. But then in epi 49, where we see Kai's past, we find out that he was actually on very good terms with Ren when they were young, which unlocks a new pairing, kaixren. PS: Ren looks like a girl when he was a kid xD

Also, Ren was seen calling to Aichi through Blaster Dark using his psyqualia and going like "come to me Aichi" You can't blame us for calling this anime BL, the way the phrase it is just too suggestive!!! (Pairing: RenxAichi)

Whereas for Kai, he got Kourin to intercept Aichi and bring him to him. Then he goes about saying that he will save Aichi because he made he realised the true thing about Vanguard and that he won't run away and will definitely save him unlike last time when he was unable to stop Ren after Ren unlocked his psyqualia powers. See! The prince is about to rescue the princess hahas ^^ (Pairing: KaixAichi)

The Aichi's funfact: Aichi would often say in this in the anime: Kai Kun~ I've gotten stronger!
Well guess what, someone says that as well! Ren: Kai Kun~ I've gotten stronger! (See, Ren is Aichi number 2 xD) What's even better is that Kai caught both of them in the exact same manner when they were about to faint after using Psyqualia. This line, is also today's troll line... the only one that makes us want to puke everytime... =3

Ok I'm done with my rant! I think I've talked too much...oops...hehe sorry please bare with the otaku. So yeah, let's look forward to the next episode and see if Kai will win Aichi and save him from psyqualia. Kai: Royal Paladin vs Aichi: Shadow Paladin. (The Kamui and I have been trying to film the same thing as well, but it is really tough as we are trying to imitate the exact moves each character would make, not the mention playing style as well. But we'll keep trying and hopefully complete it in time before the next episode is released and see if our prediction comes true...GANBARIMASU!~

Ok I shall sign off now! Do look forward to our video! We will be posting it soon!

Today's Troll Card 13th December 2011

I'm gonna troll about Cat Butler now cause I got too bored doing my homework ahaha.

Cat Butler
Normal Unit
Grade 0/Boost
Power: 5 000
Critical: 1
Shield: 10 000
Star Gate - Nova Grappler
Race: War Beast
Effect:
自(Auto) {R}: [Retire this Unit] At the beginning of the close step of your Vanguard's attack, if the attack didn't hit, you may pay the cost. If you do, choose one of your Grade 2 or lower <Nova Grappler> Vanguard, and Stand it.

Yes, it's hard to believe that this cute little... cat is a Nova Grappler. Although, I can't really think of which Clan it looked like it would be in.

But seriously, in a normal duel, your Vanguard will only be Grade 2 for 1 turn, and most likely, the opponent will just let the attack pass at such an early point of the game, especially if they see Cat Butler on the field.

So I thought of the art of trolling, and remembered Aichi's first deck: No Grade 3s.

That was the key. To trolling Cat Butler.

A deck without Grade 3s... total Grade 2 beatdown... Cat Butler Boosts the Vanguard, if attack fails to hit, Retire that Cat Butler, Stand Vanguard, attack again...

Yes I'm weird.

"Glad to be of service."

Today's Random Card 12 December 2011

Haha, it's "Random" this time, cause I have no idea where to categorise this card under. I mean, it's not exactly an entirely fail card, and yet, it's not exactly good either. So yeah.
Anyway, the card's Swordsman of the Twin Shine, Marhaus.

Swordsman of the Twin Shine, Marhaus
Normal Unit
Grade 3/Twin Drive!!
Power: 10 000
Critical: 1
United Sanctuary - Royal Paladin
Race: Human
Effect:
自(Auto) {V/R}: When this Unit attacks a Vanguard, and you have a <Royal Paladin> Vanguard, this Unit's Power is +2000 for that battle.

Ok, this card's actually quite good, and it has no cost, sounds nice, heh? Marron will help bring out a free 20k attack (only when attacking the Vanguard though sigh) and 3 Snogals is 8k Booster each, 4 of them make 9k. There's also 9k Boosters namely Toypugal and Borugal, and others whose Power can go off the charts (Young Pegasus Knight, Soul Guiding Elf or Knight Squire Alen) and that Starlight Unicorn which can be, in a way, a 1-turn 8k Booster. So it can be quite painful for the opponent.

However, think about it. Rear-guards are often used to attack the opponent's Rear-guards, unless your opponent is about to lose. Earlier in the game, getting rid of the opponent's Rear-guards is quite a necessity, which makes this card not really useful at that point. Unless you just want to attack the Vanguard all the way...

Ok, I think that above paragraph was crap. I usually think very weirdly, so yeah.

But anyway, what I think would serve as a better argument would be:

1. This card has quite a nice effect, but there are better Units with similar effects. For example, Swordsman of the Explosive Flames Palomides. That Unit adds 3000 Power when you have 2 or more Grade 3s on the field (including itself) and you can use it to attack Rear-guards and still have to 3000 Power ahaha. And being 13k you can go attack those 8k Units like S Special Intercepts. 13k also makes it easier to set up 20k or 21k attacks.
Another card not as good as Palomides, but I feel is better than Marhaus anyway, is Conviction Knight Bors. Just Counter Blast 1 to add 3000 Power for that battle is a cost that's easy to pay. And good for attacking Rear-guards too ahaha.

2. This card makes it quite hard to set up 20k attacks. Or rather, Palomides and Bors can do so more easily hehe. And 21k set ups would just be even harder.

3. Being a PR in Aichi's Starter Set, it's hard to get and quite expensive anyway. Palomides is still more expensive, but it's only by a few dollars more expensive, and definitely much more worth it.

Still, considering that it's costless to add the 2000 Power for Marhaus, it still has its uses. Palomides has no cost too, but it's harder to fulfill the condition. However, it's still Palomides > Marhaus.

As for Bors vs Marhaus, I guess they're both about as ok? In my opinion it'll be Marhaus > Bors though, since Marhaus has no cost to activate its effect, and 20k and 21k set ups can still be made quite easily with Royal Paladins. With Margal and all, it's not really a problem.

Episode Rant: Episode 48

Since The Aichi's gone on an overseas trip, I have tasked myself with the job of ranting on today's episode. Hehe.

Firstly... doesn't anyone ever wonder why Aichi would faint after every duel?? And why his ego level's suddenly so much higher?

And seriously, Asaka asked Ren if Bidou would really join Team FFAL4 if he defeated Aichi. And Ren's reply: "Only if he satisfies me..." IT SOUNDS SO WRONG OMG...

And it is quite surprising to see Bidou using a Pale Moon deck?? Doesn't really seem like his style... especially after seeing Asaka using Pale Moon, I guess I kind of stereotyped Pale Moon as a female Clan. Ahaha.

Argh I seriously can't stand Aichi's voice, it's so annoying!! And I also can't stand FFBS' fangirls what's so great about Calling Grade 3s when you're only at Grade 2? Spike Brothers also can do that.

And don't you think Elephant Juggler looks so weird, juggling elephants...?

"Boys sure do change, don't they?" That's called puberty, my dear.

And Kai's out there on the streets moaning Aichi's name.

Urgh, Aichi's such a stacker. Badhabh Caar Called another Badhabh Caar.

And they didn't show Aichi's Twin Drive Check!!

Bidou: "Ren-sama is watching me!! *insert awkward smile* FINAL  TURN!!"
Seriously, look at Aichi's hand size. And he only has 4 damage. Please. Is Ren really such a heartthrob?

Bidou: Ren-sama is watching me~~
Aichi: Kai-kun must be watching me from somewhere~~
Me: *pukes*

At least Aichi's smarter when declaring Final Turn. Since Bidou revealed 2 Grade 3s in the Twin Drive and he only has Ceberus to Intercept with. And he can use Phantom Blaster Dragon's effect.

Firstly, Bidou declared Final Turn wrongly, that's embarrassing enough, and he still has the pride to beg for his life. He already humiliated himself enough in front of "Ren-sama".
And Aichi just wants to get stronger for his "Kai-kun".

And now the fangirls go gaga over Aichi. *pukes even more*

Kai swears to stop Aichi. Aw so sweet. (sarcasm intended)

And here's mistake in the animation!!
When Aichi guarded Alice's attack with a Darkside Trumpeter, Alice + Bicorn = 18 000 Power, right? Subtract Darkside Trumpeter's 10 000 Shield, it should be 8 000 Power, not 10 000. Actually it doesn't really matter, but still, it's quite unnerving.

Sorry, ahaha, but sometimes I really just can't stand it.  The anime I mean.

Today's Troll Card 9th December 2011

Let's troll, shall we?
This time, Exile Dragon.

Exile Dragon
Normal Unit
Grade 3/Twin Drive!!
Power: 10 000
Critical: 1
Dragon Empire - Kagero
Race: Flame Dragon
Effect:
起(Startup) {R}: [Retire this Unit] Choose 1 of your Opponent's Grade 0 or lower Rear-guards and Retire it.

Like seriously, what the...?
Don't you think Gatling Claw would be a much better choice to use?
I mean, I'd rather use Exile Dragon as an attacker than for its effect.
Besides, it's quite rare to see Grade 0s on the field. Maybe just that Bleugal which stays stuck there forever...?

However, if you count the costs and all, you don't waste any Shield to get rid of an opponent's Booster. Which is, in a way, making up for the loss of an attacking Unit? Hmm.

Well, the funny thing is, "Grade 0 or lower". Like there's a Grade -1 or the like in the first place!
It's just like how Dueling Dragon, ZANBAKU mentioned "Grade 3 or higher" in its effect. Only difference is, it's waaay more likely for Bushiroad to create a Grade 4 than to have a Grade -1.

Aw well, in light of this card, I created a mass trolling deck, which spams all of those cards which can Retire Units and those Units which gain Power when the opponent's Rear-guards are Retired. Except Blazing Flare. That's too expensive to troll for. Ain't I just great? Ahaha.
I'm too lazy to post the decklist here, but since it's just for fun, I won't post it anyway, 'cause I haven't tested it out yet, and I'm guessing it's not exactly good, so yeah.

"I'll take you straight down to hell together, Open! Nightmare Gate!"

Today's Pro Card 9th December 2011

Today's Pro Card is also today's Card of the Day... and that's Phantom Blaster Overlord ^^

Phantom Blaster Overlord
Normal Unit
Grade 3/Twin Drive!!
Power: 11 000
Critical: 1
United Sanctuary - Shadow Paladin
Race: Abyss Dragon
Effect:
永(Continuous){V/R}: If you have a unit which is not a <Shadow Paladin> on the field, this Unit's Power is -2000.
永(Continuous){V}: If you have "Phantom Blaster Dragon" in your soul, this Unit's Power is +2000.
自(Auto){V}: [Counter Blast (3), Discard 1 "Phantom Blaster Overlord" from your Hand] When this Unit attacks, you may pay the cost. If paid, this unit has +10000 Power and +1 Critical for the turn.

It's first effect... well, you don't really have to worry about it. Since Shadow Paladins have more than enough cards to build a good, pure deck.

Seriously, a permanent 13k Unit as the Vanguard??
Not many cards can go above 23k Power as of now.
Possible ways to hit 23k include...
Vanguard only:
> 4 Snogal as Rear Guards and Fang of Light, Garmall (10k + 4k from the 4 Snogals + 9k Boost from a Snogal = 23k)
> CEO Amaterasu + Milk OR Sakuya +Milk(14k + 10k from Milk = 24k) (The Aichi added the sakuya bit ^^ Being an OTT player and one who plays a deck focusing on Sakuya, of course she must add this in xD )
> Spam Galahad/Gancelot/Edel Rose
> Promise Daughter with Milk
> Hell Marquis Amon!! ( Aichi: HELL YEAH!)
> Tyrant Deathrex
> Dragonic Waterfowl, maybe?

Rear-guards/Vanguard:
> Spam Margals (Royal Paladins) / Anklyos (Tachikaze)

> Spam Savage King!! (Tachikaze)

> Spam Young Pegasus Knight (Royal Paladins) or Doreen the Thuster (Dark Irregulars)
> Holy Disaster Dragon

As you can see, it's not very consistent to be able to hit the 23k barrier. For example, for the FOL's Blizzard Formation, one of the Snogals will have to be in the front row, and being only 6k during the opponent's turn, the opponent can get rid of it in no time. And Galahad, Gancelot and Edel Rose can only Counter Blast that many times. And what are the odds you'll always have Margals to use?

Ok, it's actually still quite doable, but seriously, as of the cards announced so far, Phantom Blaster Dragon has the highest possible permanent Power.
However, assuming so, the other cards in Booster 5 should also be able to exceed the 23k barrier easily or also have Units of their own with higher permanent Power.

Anyway, enough ranting about the 13k thing.

It's second effect is practically what the original Phantom Blaster can do, however on a different scale. For PBD, if you ever do have enough Units to do so, can use its effect twice, whereas PBO can't, unless you Heal, and even if you did, there's no way you can use it twice in the same turn.

However, I must say, it's less costly in a way. With Phantom Bringer Demon, a new Grade 0 in Booster 5, by Counter Blasting (1) and Retiring any 2 <Shadow Paladin> Units you can search for a Phantom Blaster Overlord. And if you're lucky enough to get PBO in the hand without needing Bringer Demon, then you would have saved up a lot more.

Another way is to use Wingal Brave, a new Starter for Royal Paladins (yay they keep getting new Starters <3) which when you Ride a Royal Paladin over, it will move to a Rear-guard Circle (typical Starter effect). And when it Boosts a "Blaster" Unit (take note this means that it can be Blaster Dark or Phantom Blaster Dragon or even this new Phantom Blaster Overlord!!) and that "Blaster" Unit's attack hits, you can move it back into the Soul, and search for a "Blaster" Unit from your deck and add it to your hand!! So you can use this to search for another Phantom Blaster Overlord, and of course this Unit's less costly to use than Phantom Bringer Demon. You can still follow the Fullbau way, just throw in some copies of Wingal Brave to use, and you won't even need to put in a lot of Royal Paladin cards, so you don't really have to worry about changing your decklist a lot!!

Another interesting thing, Flame of Promises, Aermo, is practically a Lionmane Stallion, except it's for "Overlord" Units. In other words, a 4k Booster which will become 10k when Boosting an "Overlord" Unit by Soul Blasting 1.

However take note about the top 2 effects, since PBO will end up as an 11k Unit even with Phantom Blaster Dragon in the Soul. Although, for Wingal Brave, you can always just use it early game, before Riding PBO.

As you can see, Booster 5 is more open to the possibility of mix decks. We can expect a lot of interesting things in this new Booster.( Aichi: That means you can expect more interesting combos and decks from us =] )

Spread the Vanguard lurve!

Minna Konbanwa! (Good Evening everyone :D ) Well I've been taking the circle line lately where I discovered Vanguard advertisements.

These were sighted at Bishan and Serangoon circle line MRT. I think there are other MRTs with these advertisements too. Clementi has if I am not wrong. Wonder if any other MRT stations has these too. Spread the Vanguard lurve! xD Bushiroad is seriously very rich....mass publicising of vanguard...=.=  Oh well, I was still kind of happy to see the advertisements though. I kinda pedo-ed the thing. I just stared and stared at it and people started staring weirdly at me hahas ^^ So I took a photo with my camera. :) Do leave a comment and tell us what other MRT stations have the advertisements. Ok that shall be all for now. Ja ne~ (Bye~)

Episode Rants: Episode 47

Well, The Aichi was supposed to be doing this, since she rants on anime much better than I ever could, but it's been so long, and she has yet to post it, I thought I'd just do one first to keep you guys entertained. (And to pressurise her into finishing her rant soon) (The Aichi's add on: GOMENASAI! I've been busy lately so I didn't get the chance to post my rant...oh well... I'll just add on to Kamui's rant ^^ Don't worry. The Otaku shall post her rants on the anime in the future. Yaksoku da yo! That's a promise =] )

First off, I would like to say this:
Team FFBS is full of gays. (Aichi: I 100% agree with you. )

Like seriously, I thought that Hiromi guy was a girl. (Aichi: My sentiments exactly. When he spoke, I went Wtf...) Pink, long hair, what do you think? And it totally shocked me when he opened his mouth. And he spazzes over beautiful things more than I spazz over this game. Like seriously, call Galahad, an old man, beautiful, and you know there's something wrong with that guy. (Aichi: Likes that statement. )
(And he moans that he's feeling faint because Galahad's too beautiful... and his fangirls love his moaning... *pukes*) (Aichi: *pukes as well *)

And him calling his teammates beautiful just serves to prove he's even more of a gay.

And then the green haired FFBS guy, Harumi, he has long hair too, and some serious mood swings. One moment he's talking normally, another he's screaming like some lunatic.(Aichi: Neh Kamui, doesn't that remind you of someone...?)

And yes, Blockade is very annoying and irritating. I want to tear that card up. (Aichi: There are a lot of cards that we want to tear up xD | Kamui: LIKE SILENT TOM OMG THANKS FOR REMINDING)

And I'm surprised Team FFBS even have fans.

I think their gay side has something to do with Ren's training sessions... don't you think? ;) (Aichi: DUH! Everyone in Foo Fighter has problems...including Ren...which brings us to the KaixAichixRen topic which is widely shown in the anime...BL! I am SO going to do a rant on this one day =D )

Although, on gameplay, I must say, the Blaukruger way of evolution is much more stable than that of the Galahad way. At least, for Blaukruger, you will end up with a 10k Stern Blaukruger if you miss Grade 2, and if you missed Grade 1, it won't affect you in the late game. Whereas for Galahad, if you missed either Grade, you'll have a 9k Unit and you can cry all you want.

Anyway, I'm surprised that Kamui didn't attack Baron at all. Knowing card effects is really important in a duel, otherwise when the opponent finally starts to abuse it, you'll be thinking, "Oh shit, I could have actually stopped it." In this case, Kamui would have seen a less painful attack the next turn, since Soul Charging 2 Margals already made Baron a 14k Unit.

And once again, the anime writers screwed up. Hiromi didn't Soul Charge when he Rode Godspeed Galahad, so he should actually have only 5 Soul (Dorangal, Grade 1 & 2 Galahad, 2 Margals) and where did that Elaine come from?

At least, Kamui brought up an interesting dueling strategy. Something which probably newer duelists wouldn't notice. By getting rid of Interceptors, you decrease the opponent's attack force and defense as well. (Basic knowledge and move, especially if you want to "final turn" someone...)

And how come everyone can do that card flip in the air and catch it move?? :(

I'm being critical here, since I hate how the anime keeps making mistakes during gameplay. Harumi actually drew first, then added 5000 Power to Blockade. Whereas official rulings have said that you have to add the Power first, then apply the other effect of the Trigger. Although it's obvious that anyone would add the Power to Blockade in this situation, he could have gotten DQed by not following the rules of declaring the target of the Power boost first. Then Aichi wouldn't have to show up and ego around. (Because I totally feel like slapping Aichi when he starts to ego around with his PSYqualia...) (The Aichi: I hate Psyqualia possessed Aichi...he becomes a lot more gay than normal Aichi and normal Aichi is bad enough... | Kamui: Maybe PSYqualia is what makes the Foo Fighters gay??)

And I would like to end off my rant with this:
Team FFBS is seriously full of gays. (Aichi: HELL YEAH!)

Today's Pro Card 8th December 2011

Haven't updated for so long, been really busy with things... hehe...
Anyway, this time, instead of just trolling, let's do something more proper.
And today's card shall be: Demon Killer Knight, Lohengrin!! :D

Demon Killer Knight, Lohengrin
Normal Unit
Grade 3/Twin Drive!!
Power: 10 000
Critical: 1
United Sanctuary - Royal Paladin
Race: Human
Effect:
自(Auto) {V}: At the start of your Main Phase, Soul Charge 1, and this Unit has +2000 Power until end of turn.
自(Auto) {V/R}: [Soul Blast 8, Counter Blast 5] When this Unit's attack hits, you may pay the cost. If you do, retire all of your opponent's rear-guards.

Ok, this card's actually in my first deck, a Royal Paladin one focused on Soul Charging. Yes, back in the old days when Barcgal was still roaming the streets. (I still play a Soul Charge Royal Paladin deck now ahaha)

It's second effect isn't exactly usable most of the time, considering how Royal Paladins tend to use up Counter Blasts with Blaster Blade, Akane, Alfred, just to name a few. But it's first effect is the reason why I use this card.

With the Soul Charging, Great Sage Baron and Young Pegasus Knight can have +3000 Power. That makes a 21k set up for the Vanguard (Pegasus and Lohengrin) or 20k set up for Rear Guard (Baron and Pegasus). And if you do more Soul Charging, with Margal and Pongal, the Power can go much higher.

Also, with a big Soul comes a painful attack. Gigantic Dozer and Borugal have this Continuous effect (only during your turn though) of adding 3000 Power when you have 6 or more Soul. It can be just as good as Baron and Pegasus, even though it doesn't stack. Since Lohengrin Soul Charges only at the start of the turn, if you don't already have Baron or Pegasus on the field, there won't be any Power boost. So Gigantic Dozer and Borugal are useful for filling up the field, while Baron and Pegasus are good for Margal spammage.

Also, don't forget Galahad. It's a powerful card, but if luck's not on your side, it may just end up with only 9000 Power. So, Lohengrin is used to attempt to Soul Charge the Grade(s) missed. Or, it's just used as a faster way to hit 6 Soul for Galahad to use his effect.

Currently, for Royal Paladins, [Lohengrin + YPK + extra Soul Charging from somewhere] is the best way to go to hit the 13k Phantom Blaster Overlord painfully. Although, I believe the new Royal Paladin cards will be able to counter the new Phantom Blaster more easily, this is just another way.

Overall, I think this is quite a good card, being able to set up lots of combos, hehe.

"Roar, demon slaying blade!"

(The Aichi's add on: I told you Kamui is an overly obsessed RP lover... Don't worry, other pro cards in other clans will be coming out soon. Do look forward to it! ^^)

Today's Troll Card 2nd December 2011

Our second card to troll on shall  be...hehe...
Imperial Daughter :D

Seriously...

Imperial Daughter
Normal Unit
Grade 3/Twin Drive!!
Power: 11 000
Critical: 1
United Sanctuary - Oracle Think Tank
Race: Human
Effect:
永(Passive) {V/R}: Restraint (This card cannot attack)
起(Startup) {V/R}: [Counterblast (1), move 1 <Oracle Think Tank> Rear-guard to Soul] This Unit loses Restraint for this turn.
永(Passive) {V}: During your turn, if you have no Rear-guards, this Unit gains 10,000 Power and 1 Critical and loses Restraint.

This card isn't all as bad as our first Troll Card, Zenon, but it's still quite illogical to be usable. Possibilities include Riding Sakuya and at most Calling only Grade 2s to attack and Intercepting them away OR Call a Boost or Grade 3 then use Imperial Daughter's Soul Charging effect to get rid of it.

The Aichi, unlike the obviously pro me, (ego) thought that it was possible to Retire Units for no reason. However, after much asking around, it has been proven that that's not possible. So yes, let's include Rulings in this post: You cannot Retire Units for no reason, only through effects or Retiring them to Call other Units can it be done.

Now, on to how this card's NOT really reliable.
If you think about it, it's actually very unlikely for an Oracle Think Tank (OTT) deck to have an empty field. Since you can easily increase hand size, the typical duelist would, of course, spam Units onto the field to attack, rather than just for Imperial Daughter to use its effect. Unless you had a super fail hand or your opponent is spamming Retiring with a Kagero deck or the like. Or you decided to combo it with Sakuya. Either way, 1 Nullifier/Negator/Perfect Shield, and you can say your byes for that turn. (The Aichi's add on: But then again, it is not possible for the opponent to always have a nullifier to nullify your attack so if you can drag on and survive several other turns, Imperial Daughter's effect might be able to be fully activated and deal a hard blow. But for you to survive several turns and only being able to attack with your vanguard, your handsize has to be very big to successfully guard your opponents attack. Hence we do not find it very realistic to use this card as it depends A LOT on luck for its last effect to work.)
Cause, if you think about it, you're losing your Rear-guard set ups just so your Vanguard can have a harder hit. It's possible to set up 15k or 16k or higher for Rear-guards, and don't forget there's also Silent Toms which hit harder. Your opponent would probably have to guard 10k for that Rear-guard attack, and you have 2 Rear-guards to attack. Meaning, your opponent has to guard about 10k less to be safe, and they can still use all their Triggers to guard.
Also, don't forget that OTT had just gotten their Promise Daughter: by discarding 1 OTT card in your hand (easily accomplished with your big hand) it jumps from being a 9k attacker to 14k. Using this, Rear-guards can very easily exceed 20k.
As such, Imperial Daughter isn't as good as it can be since it just stops you from being able to use so much better cards for attacking. Yes, it's base is 11k, but still, without 9k Boosts for Rear-guards, it's use, when there's Rear-guards, is when it's a Vanguard Boosted by Milk.

Now, how about trolling this card?
Let's try out Secretary Angel, hmm. Yes, just for fun. Slowly, Imperial Daughter will let you hit 6 Soul (hopefully) so Secretary Angel, Oracle Guardian Blue-Eye, and Faithful Angel will have their effects. Slowly, but surely. And maybe Red-Eye too, just in case.
And come on, their base Power is so low, it's sure to be destroyed by the opponent in no time. Yay, you fulfill Imperial Daughter's other criterion.

"Fighting for the future, the princess stands alone in the front lines."

I must say, the future's going to be so ruined. (Aichi: Kamui's just being biased against OTT cos she loves RP too much sheesh.=.=   Kamui: HEY COME ON!! I meant that having Imperial Daughter fight for the future would totally ruin the whole thing xD I'd rather send Silent Toms to attack hehe.)

Today's Troll Card 30th November 2011

Where we post cards and start trolling about them!!
Today's card will be Today's Card of the Day on the Vanguard website: Sage of Guidance, Zenon.

http://bushiroad.fm/slide/en/3591/3591.html

Sage of Guidance, Zenon
Normal Unit
Grade 1/Boost
Power: 6 000
Critical: 1
Shield: 5 000
United Sanctuary - Royal Paladin
Race: Giant
Effect:
自(Auto): When this Unit is Called to a Rear-guard Circle, and your Vanguard is a <Royal Paladin>, reveal the top card of your deck. If that card is a <Royal Paladin> with the same Grade as your Vanguard, Ride it over your Vanguard. If not, send it to the Drop Zone.

Oh, and have we mentioned that pope man is the only SP (Special Print) in Extra Booster 1?

Seriously, what?
Unless you're really lucky, what are the odds that you'll reveal the card you need?
When you're at Grade 3, it'll be great if you can reveal the card you need (e.g. Soul Saver Dragon when there's 4 Soul) but if you get a Trigger or something, it's all wasted.

The VanTroll!! team have been hard on our heads to come up with possibilities that this card could have its uses, and we thought of 2 Oracle Think Tank cards: Battle Sister Cocoa and CEO Amaterasu. These cards can check the top card, right? But the Vanguard must be an Oracle Think Tank, which goes against our dear Zenon's criteria of a Royal Paladin Vanguard.
I mean, imagine this...
You have a CEO Amaterasu as the Vanguard, you Soul Charge, check the top card, it's a Soul Saver Dragon, you Call Zenon, reveal top card, over-Ride Soul Saver Dragon, and bazaaaaaaam, your opponent goes, "WTF?!" (The Aichi's epic but useless additional sound effects: Soul Saver Dragon Holy Charging Roar! Opponent: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz =.= )
But of course, that's only possible, if there was a "If you have a <insert Clan here> Vanguard" phrase in the card effects.
Seriously, it's only useful for people with Psyqualia. Maybe this was Ren's ace card before he switched to Shadow Paladins.

Here's a VanTroll!! omake...(inspired by the otaku, The Aichi)
Ren, who was an RP user before turning evil, was on a date with Kai. Kai happened to see Extra Booster 1 on sale, so he bought a booster pack for Ren. Ren opened the pack and saw Zenon. He thought it looked hot, as hot as Kai was (or maybe Kai's hotter?), so he put it into his deck full of hot guys. And a hot dragon. And during a duel, through Psyqualia, he sensed that the next card was Soul Saver Dragon, so he Called Zenon, and through the power of the card which represented Kai's love, Rode Soul Saver, and totally KO-ed the opponent.
~The end~

(Extra from The Aichi~) Here is how the VanTroll!! team would like Bushiroad to change the card's effects to.
When this Unit is Called to a Rear-guard Circle, reveal the top card of your deck. If that card is with the same Grade as your Vanguard (not necessarily same clan), Ride it over your Vanguard. If not, return it to your deck and shuffle. If Bushiroad made the effects as such, this card will be included in A LOT of mixed decks, resulting in pure overkill... xD Can you imagine the possibilities?! If you are playing a Tsukuyomi build and you miss Grade 3, you can use this card and over ride Tsukuyomi grade 3(directly from the deck and even better if you call a Cocoa to check the top card and it just so happens to be on the top). If it is a Trigger, it won't be wasted because you can return it to the deck and shuffle.

Of course, we do realise that there's 1 possible use for this card. Other than using the card to soak up that cup of Coke/Pepsi/Milo/pee that you spilled.
For a troll deck!!
How it works: Make your opponent laugh by revealing all of those useful cards - Isolde and Triggers - or revealing a Gigantic Charger and you end up with a 9k Vanguard and you can go, "WTF!!" and you have to do another Check of the top card but at least you get a free Rear Guard in exchange :)
Remember to always have at least 4 Soul Saver Dragons to increase the chance of getting it!!
... No I'm kidding, you can only have 4.
How about going Morikawa style? A deck full of Grade 3s, then when you check the top card, chances of it being Grade 3 is really high. Worth a shot hmm? Only thing is, what if you end up Riding a shitty card?
Oh ya go stock up on Gigantic Chargers too. Remember, you can get free Rear Guards in exchange for losing 2 cards from your deck so you can deck out faster :) Oh and end up with a 9k Vanguard which can be hit more easily.

On the other hand, this card's pretty cool-looking too, don't ya think? ;)

Zenon: HOLY CHARGING BALL!!

Self-Intro of the VanTroll team! :D

Minna Konbanwa~! (Good evening everyone =] ) We are the VanTroll team and here is just something a little more in depth for those of you who want to know more about us. To make the idea a little clearer for you, we have done our best to fit ourselves into one of the members in team Q4 (For those of you who haven't watched the anime, yes * points * you are the one don't look away now I am talking to YOU!... go watch the anime :3 ) We will probably be ranting a lot about the anime and cards and will be making references so please I do urge you to watch it  ^^ Anyways, we have selected 2 people which we feel suit us the best. Disclaimer: We are being truthfully honest here and did not select the specific character because we like him/her... on the contrary...we don't, but feel that whoever it is  is closest to our personality and playing style...oh and we may also not necessarily play the same deck as the character. Ok enough of the talk and blabber. Let's bring out the intros!

VanTroll member 1: The Kamui (Ore-sama type)
Personality: Hyper, a bit childish and likes to add in unique sound effects when fighting (PIACK!) Has a good knowledge of cards and rarely holds back in a fight. (kamui mah....) Strong sense of loyalty and good sense of fun. The one who explains card effects and provides strategies for me to experiment with =D
Main deck clan: Royal Paladin * surprise surprise xD
Likes: Getting double crit in fights and trashing opponents. Hates: Anime healing during fights...especially when final turn is declared and the opponent HAS to get a heal for 6th damage.

VanTroll member 2: The Aichi ( The ORIGINAL Aichi. Not the stupid evil weird psyqualia crazy Aichi ) This decision was made based on playing skills and solely playing skills. I can be considered the weakest in the team, like the original Aichi in Q4 and still have a lot to learn and am still learning from the other member, aka VanTroll member one, the Kamui, like Aichi.
Personality: With that being said, do not expect me to be anything like Aichi in terms of personality. I take fights seriously and always do my best.(Although I still have a long way to go....xD) I am an Otaku ( hence the japanese greeting in the beginning ^o^ ) and also a procrastinator. But don't worry, I'll do my best to update this. I do tend to get nervous and worried when fighting against other stronger players especially in tournaments, but I'll do my best cos I want to win and if I lose, I will just try to learn from my mistakes and try to improve.( That's why I am the Aichi... )
Deck clans: Dark Irregulars and Oracle Think Tank. ( It's a weird but fun combination =.= )
Likes: Getting double crit or stands in fights. Hates: Opponent getting double or triple crits [Ironic right?....]

So yeah there you have it! The VanTroll team! Together, we are the TrollFighters! Trololololol~ Please do look forward to our future reviews on cards, decks and of course the anime. Arigato!

The Aichi~

(a little extra from Kamui-sama~~)
Hello, I'd like to include something here, I LOVE ROYAL PALADINS A LOT. Haha :P Andandand, this Aichi here tends to get double Crit by people, don't know why...that's why she hates it :D
Oh and I actually do quite like Kamui, he's so cute!!!! :D
Ok done spazzing bye.

Hello~~ First post yeah

Hello everyone out there!! Here's just two fanatics of this super awesome anime and card game, Cardfight!! Vanguard! We enjoy joking around a lot, that's why this blog's to troll about this game. We enjoy this game and anime too, go check it out if you haven't!!

Mainly we'll post about the decks, Clans, strategies, etc, and our rants on this and that on the game and especially the anime. Because we enjoy it so much, we find a lot of faults with it!! Like how they keep doing only 1 Drive Check even at Grade 3, and finally when Misaki needs a Trigger, she'll finally do that Twin Drive!! (episode 46)

Ok, I guess that's all, haha!!

Do keep checking this blog, we'll try our best to update it regularly!! :D
